The Band that Played On: The Extraordinary Story of the 8 Musicians Who Went Down with the Titanic by Steve Turner

The Band that Played On: The Extraordinary Story of the 8 Musicians Who Went Down with the Titanic by Steve Turner

I have always loved learning about the Titanic and watching the movie. When I seen that this book was available for review on booksneeze I just had to have it.
The Band played on tells a totally different story and outlook on the Titanic.  IT tells the story of the 8 Musicians who went down with the ship.  These brave musicians continued playing thru all the chaos that was going on when it hit the Iceberg in hopes to help calm passengers.   Steve Turner does a great job of depicting the heroic acts of Wallace Hartley, John Wesley Woodward, John Fredrick Preston Clarke, Theodore Ronald Brailey, John Law Hume, Roger Marie Bricoux, Percy Cornelius Taylor and Georges Alexandre Krins.
This book is a real eye opener into the story.  These musician’s were the brave of the brave.  The ship was very lucky to of had them aboard.  If you have any interest at all about the Titanic I would highly recommend reading this book.
